How to Restore your Active DeskTop?

I am not able to restore my active desktop after clicking on restore active desktop button?

If you use a Windows XP machine in some cases you may seen the phrase “Restore my Active Desktop” inplace of your wallpaper. This usually happens due to improper shutdownsEx:-Power failure, some device failure that may cause the computer to shutdown, some application or windows itself gets confused and triggers the Blue Screen of Death.
Most of the time you can get your previous Activedesktop by clicking “Restore my Active Desktop” button.

If it is not working you can follow the below steps to fix it:-
1. Go Start >Run
2. Type and enter regedit
3. Go to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\SafeMode\Components
4. Change the value of DeskHtmlVersion to zero instead of decimal 272.
5. Log off and Logon

Now you can see your previous Active desktop.
